Dear Pastors and Congregation of Zion:
I am Ben Sinnard’s Mom. I was devastated when I heard the news about your church on Saturday! I cried and cried. I LOVED your church and all it stood for. I came and worshiped there while Ben was in College. I was so grateful for it. I have unbelievably fond, precious, special memories of Ben and Kara’s Wedding there… And worshiping there after they have been married. This was their “Church Family.” Sometimes it is hard to understand and see God’s Purpose in things that this, but God has His Divine Hand in everything. You are a strong, loving, faithful church community and I have no doubt you will make it through this very difficult time. My deepest thoughts and prayers are with you…

God is God and He changes not. When we are refined by fire we shall come forth as pure gold, fit for the Masters use. God did not cause the fire but God will work in the fire, because WE KNOW that God causes all things to work together for good for those who love HIM and are called for HIS purposes!

When we don’t know what to do, we keep our eyes on you Father.

May each and every one of us seek to know Him and hear His voice directing every step.

All honor and glory be to Him who sits on the throne and reigns victoriously and supremely, our Savior and our soon coming King!

We were heart sick to see the devestation from the fire. I know God’s timing is perfect and there is a plan in all this. As Tim says, “It is only a structure, it doesn’t contain the heart of the people who worshipped there.” May

Dave,

How tragic to see such a building destroyed. I’ll be praying that in the days and weeks ahead you and your congregation God’s comfort and hand will be seen as he RESURRECTS you all.

Our congregation, refined by a smoldering fire of discord and members leaving because of disagreements on ministry direction, is just now after several years of the smoldering just beginning to be on track again.

I was reminded of this song, Refiner’s Fire:
“Refiner’s fire, my heart’s one desire is to be holy, set apart for you, Lord, ready to do your will.”

Blessings on all of you as you find meaning, purpose, and renewed ministry out of this loss.

We were mortified to hear of the destruction of your Church. We are Jeanne Wright’s parents. Many times we have witnessed the news at your Church with Jeanne and her family. May God be with you as you rebuild in the future.

Gary, by the time I got there all of the flames were out. I had seen the destruction, but not the destroyer. These pictures are disturbing to me as stills just 500px wide. I can’t imagine the sense of terror, helplessness, and loss that you must have felt standing there watching this happen.

I’ll save the cliches for later, but I am looking forward to worshiping with you and your family later today.
